Oval-shaped badge of red enamel encased in gold. Emblem in centre a gold sword flanked by a pair of spurs and surrounded by a scroll. Back of badge has hinged clasp, the initials 'J.C.' and the marking '30', and four insignia.
Satin and felt-lined box with the royal crest inside lid. Below crest banner bearing the words: 'Royal Mint'.
Accompanied by a standardized letter bearing the letterhead: 'The Imperial Society of Knights Bachelor': the address 'Lincoln's Inn, London, W.C.2' and signed: 'Gerald W. Wallaston Garter. Knight-Principal'.
A diagram on back of letter shows 'How The Badge Of A Knight Bachelor Should Be Worn'.
