Diary, 25 April 1916 to 27 October 1917 Bound volume, written in pen and pencil.

Lowing's second diary commences in Egypt and most of the year is spent in camp. In the beginning of 1917 preparations are underway for the Battles of Gaza. In late October 1917, at the end of the diary, preparations take place for the Battle of Beersheba. On the 27th he is placed in charge of C Squadron of 12th Light Horse, "I close this book on the eve of the greatest battle which is to be fought on the oldest battle ground in the world - Gaza to Beersheba".
