The Cadell and Macansh families were early pioneers who settled in the lower Hunter River around the Raymond Terrace area in the mid 1800's. Anne Macansh was the granddaughter of the pastoralist Archibald Windeyer who lived at Kinross, Raymond Terrace. He was closely related to the Tomago House Windeyers.
