This important iron house may be unique for it was made by a Glasgow foundry which was destroyed by fire not long after it was established.
The pieces reached Geelong by sea in 1855, but were not claimed and the port authorities sold them to Alfred Douglass who assembled them into " Corio Villa ". The walls are one half inch plate and corrugated...
