Peter Skrzynecki was born in Germany in 1945 of Polish-Ukrainian origins. He emigrated to Australia in 1949 and grew up in Sydney. He has published seven volumes of poetry including 'Head-waters' (1972), 'Night swim' (1989) and 'Easter Sunday' (1993) and two collections of short stories, 'Wild dogs' (1987) and 'Rock 'n' Roll Heroes' (1992).
