A catalogue of one hundred and thirty approved books of instruction; among which the parents, guardians, and the instructors of youth of both sexes, may find all that is proper to facilitate the various branches of education. [electronic resource] : French Grammar, &c. 1. Petit Parnasse Francois, ou Recueii. de Morceaux choisis dans tous les differens genres de Poėfie francoise. Par M. Des Carriers. Containing 360 closely printed pages in the square form. Price 4s. bound. " We do not recollect to have before seen so well-chosen a collection of French poems printed in England as is here offered to our acceptance. Though most of the pieces are short, yet there are some of considerable length, such as L' art poėtique, Le Lutrin, La Henride, and the Ververt of Gresset; each of which has frequently been seemed of sufficient length to be published alone, at a price equl to that of the volume before us, which contains forty thousand verses." Vide monthly review, August 1799; and critical review, May, 1799. 2. The first step to the French tongue; or an easy introduction to chambaud's grammar. Containing; 1. The verbs. 2. A methodical vocabulary. 3. Concise rules on the declined parts of speech. 4. The grammatical definitions. The whole rendered extremely easy and familiar, and intended chiefly for the use of schools. To which is prefixed a letter, in which is exposed the surest mode of teaching that language. By Louis Francois Isidore Le Fort.
