General note

Coastal view at bottom: "Appearance of Cape Sorrell (...)"

Evans returned to Hobart at the end of 1818, and went with the first party to Macquarie Harbour in 1822. Although this chart is in his hand, the narrow entrance was surveyed in 1819 by P.P. King.

The Hydrographic Dept. Admiralty chart 1629 was later based on this King and Evans' survey. It retained currency in service until 1928....
