Summary

World map nautical chart on Mercator's projection. Shows the tracks of various explorers, including James Cook. On the Australian continent, the map shows the state boundaries of South Australia and an exaggerated Lake Torrens, appearing as an inland sea. Based on an earlier map by English hydrographer, John Purdy (1773-1843).
