Summary
The dugong is a rarely filmed underwater creature. Steeped in mythology and thought to be the origin of both the mermaid and siren legends, the numbers of this gentle sea cow have been declining. The species is being decimated by hunting and habitat loss and the survival of this shy marine mammal is far from secure.
