Manuscript chart in ink, part of the Huydecoper journal in the Mitchell Library, depicting Tasman's navigation along the north-west of New Zealand's South Island, past Cape Farewell, into Cook Strait, and along part of the west coast of North Island during 15/12/1642 - 6/1/1643.
With north at bottom, this chart also shows the opening at Queen Charlotte Sound [Zeehaen Bay] which is closed in the Rijksarchief journal version....
