General note

Shows Phillip Island and the southern part of French Island. Bass gives the coordinates, rise of tide, and soundings in fathoms.

Leaving Port Jackson in 28 feet whaleboat on December 3, 1797, Bass travelled south finding the Shoalhaven River, Twofold Bay, Wilson's Promontory and Western Port.
