Administrative / Biographical history
Henry (Harry) Thompson was an apprentice navigator on the Viscount Melbourne, a merchant ship that was wrecked in the South China Sea in 1842. In 1843-44, he sailed to Australia on the merchant ship Aden returning to England in the same year.
