Object History
The precise date and source of Dixson's acquisition of the journal are not known although it was in Dixson's collection in 1937 when it was used by George Mackaness for his publication Admiral Arthur Phillip (Sydney: Angus & Robertson, 1937).

Little is known of John Easty, private marine on the Scarborough. Neither his birth nor death dates are known. He returned to England in December 1792, on the Atlantic, the same ship that conveyed Arthur Phillip home.
