Helen Helga Wilson (1902-1991), author and poet, was born in Zeehan, Tasmania, to William Constantine Mayne, mining engineer, and his wife, Florence, nee Miller. Her family left for Western Australia in 1905. She was educated at Methodist Ladies’ College, Claremont, and won a scholarship to Perth Modern School. Her father was killed in France while...
