General note
Aboriginal corroboree performances were popular with non-Aboriginal audiences in the 1890s. Australian newspapers reported a number of popular Aboriginal performances at the Bondi Aquarium during this time, such as Archibald Meston’s “Wild Australia” troupe in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne for performances in late 1892 and 1893.
