Acquired from Mrs Sharpe in 1918; one volume presented by Miss Sharpe in 1921.

Administrative / Biographical history

The Rev. Thomas Sharpe arrived on Norfolk Island as chaplain on 21 April 1837. He clashed with superintendent Alexander Maconochie who, in December 1840, requested his removal. Sharpe was later the rector of All Saint's parish which included Bathurst, and in 1845 built the house in Bathurst now known as Miss Traill's House.
