George Moore, a machinist and carpenter was born in Auckland, New Zealand and enlisted with the AIF in Sydney aged 33, Mar. 1917. He served with the 9th Field Company Engineers in France, was hospitalised with gas poisoning Sept. 1918 and returned to Australia on the Orca, Feb. 1919.
