John Derek Richardson (1921-1995), physician and sex therapist, was born in Thorner, Yorkshire. He studied Chemistry at Cambridge (BA, 1943) and Medicine at the London Hospital (MRCS, LRCP, 1951; MB, B Chir, 1952). He married a nurse, Pamela Durrant, in 1952.
