Administrative / Biographical history
The Duncan Dunbar left Plymouth on 2 September 1865 with passengers and cargo for Sydney. On the 7 October she was was wrecked on the reef Las Roccas off the coast of Pernambuco, Brazil. All on board were saved. Among the passengers were Maria Louisa Hudson, Eliza Hudson, B. Hudson and George Thornton, a former mayor of Sydney.
