Administrative / Biographical history
Anna Maria was the eldest daughter of Governor Philip Gidley King. She married Hannibal Hawkins Macarthur in 1812 and the couple settled at Vineyard, Parramatta, which became one of the leading houses of the colony. After the financial collapse of her husband in the late 1840s, the couple moved to Ipswich, where Anna died in 1852.
