An infant with SAM-like syndrome (severe dermatitis, allergies, and metabolic wasting) was found to have a substantial increase in the number of T-helper 17 cells. Administration of the monoclonal antibody secukinumab produced remarkable improvement, with symptom relief and restoration of normal growth.
