A time-resolved fluoroimmunoassay (TRFIA) technique was developed to detect chloramphenicol (CAP) contamination in food. By using CAP-ovalbumin, anti-CAP antibodies, and europium-labelled goat anti-rabbit antibodies, an indirect, competitive method for CAP-TRFIA was established.
