Highlights • A recombinant strain LP/pYG-G-ORF81 expressing SVCV-G and KHV-ORF81 was developed. • High level of IgM can be elicited in carps by LP/pYG-G-ORF81 via oral vaccination. • Immunized carps with the LP/pYG-G-ORF81 obtain effective antiviral protection. • Our study suggests a promising vaccine formulation against SVCV and KHV in carps.
