Histologic specimens from the lesions showed distinguishable morphologic features of mucormycosis, including wide, thin-walled, ribbon-like hyphae with few septations, and right-angle branching under staining with Gomori methenamine silver or periodic acid-Schiff(Figures 1D-1F). The Institutional Review Board of Chonbuk National University Hospital stated that it was not necessary to obtain Institutional Review Board approval for this case report, but that patient consent was required, as the study dealt only with the retrospective use of the patient's medical record and related images. Written informed consent was obtained from the patient before the publication of this case report and the accompanying images. n Author disclosures are available with the text of this article at www.atsjournals.org....
