Abstract Hyperplasia of Brunner's glands is a benign lesion discovered incidentally in 2% of upper gastrointestinal endoscopies. An asymptomatic 34-year-old woman had a 12-cm duodenal lesion resembling an elephant's proboscis. It was removed surgically and proved to be Brunner's gland hyperplasia.
