In our study, podocalyxin expression on tumour cells was identified only in UTCs. Since podocalyxin immunoreactivity was observed only in areas of UTC in cases where undifferentiated and differentiated thyroid carcinomas coexisted, podocalyxin immunohistochemistry may be useful as a secondary staining procedure to assist in confirming the diagnosis...
