Hereditary diffuse gastric cancer is an autosomal dominant inherited cancer predisposition syndrome characterized by susceptibility to diffuse gastric and lobular breast cancers. Since current screening options for diffuse gastric cancer are ineffective, prophylactic total gastrectomy (PTG) is a recommended option for unaffected germline
