This study compares the effect of isocaloric supplements of high-fiber oat bran and a low-fiber refined wheat product on the serum cholesterol levels of 20 subjects. The supplements were given for six-week periods in a double-blind, crossover trial. The serum cholesterol levels were reduced about equally during the high-fiber and low-fiber periods
