Using state data and results from physician surveys, researchers found that 52 percent of the patients of black doctors are black, while only 9 percent of the patients of nonblack doctors are black. Similarly, 54 percent of Hispanic doctors' patients are Hispanic, while 20 percent of non-hispanic doctors' are Hispanic.
