Snohvit project director Egil Gjesteland said Statoil had recommended Dragados to its partners after an assessment found the Spanish company "clearly made the best bid." Partners include Total Fina Elf, Gaz de France, Norsk Hydro, Amerada Hess, RWE DEA, and Svenska Petroleum. Statoil is operator with a 22.3% stake.
