TORONTO, June 14 /CNW/ - G4techTV Canada (formerly TechTV Canada) announced today that award-winning technology journalist and author [Leo Laporte] will be hosting a Canadian-produced technology help show. The new Canadian program will be called Call for Help, modeled after the same successful formula as the show Laporte hosted on TechTV for six years in the United States. Canada's Call for Help on G4techTV Canada is scheduled to begin production in July and air later this summer on G4techTV Canada. This will be the first original television production for G4techTV Canada. G4techTV Canada (formerly TechTV Canada) was formed by the May 2004 merger of G4 and TechTV. G4techTV is the one and only 24-hour television network that is plugged into every dimension of games, gear, gadgets and gigabytes. Co-owned by Comcast Corporation, Rogers Media Inc. and Shaw Communications Inc., the channel airs more than 24 original series. G4techTV is available on digital cable and satellite.
