Hugh Mason was born in New Zealand in 1925, where he studied art and was a reporter on Wellington's 'Southern Cross'. In 1950 he migrated to Brisbane where he worked as a commercial artist before moving to Sydney in 1956. He wrote short stories, novels and plays for the New Theatre, and drew cartoons for trade union papers, while also working as a...
