Administrative / Biographical history

Thomas Jamison (1745-1811), surgeon, was born in England and educated at the University of Dublin. In 1777 he received a warrant as a naval surgeon and was appointed surgeon's mate of the Sirius, arriving at Sydney with the first fleet in 1788. From March 1788 he was assistant surgeon at Norfolk Island and at Sydney from 1799 to 1800. Jamison was...
