Administrative / Biographical history
William Kent (1751-1812) became a lieutenant in the British Navy in 1781. In 1795 he commanded the 'Supply' on the voyage which brought John Hunter to New South Wales as the new governor. He received several grants of land, including an area near the Tank Stream and at Kissing Point.
