Administrative / Biographical history

The 2-storey brick Tudor revival gate house was designed by Gordon McKinnon and built in 1884.

Artist John Campbell was a scenic painter who migrated to Australia from Scotland in the early 1880s. He did detailed house portraits and landscaps in oil and watercolour of late colonial buildings and cities, particularly of Perth.
