Photographs and other items in MLMSS 10492/Box 2 were removed from three self-adhesive photograph albums, which were then discarded.
Object History
The papers were taken by various family members to a Marks/Uther family reunion, with the intention of donating them to the Mitchell Library to complement existing holdings of material from the two families

The Marks and Uther families are connected through the marriage of Samuel Marks and Clara Kezia Bedforth Uther in Sydney in 1859. Clara's father, Reuben Uther, arrived in Sydney from England in 1807 as an indentured clerk to Simeon Lord, and was granted 400 acres of land in 1812.
