Major H.P. Boland was born in 1921. In 1940 he enlisted in the 24th Australian Light Horse (Gwydir) Regiment. In 1944 he was transferred to 2/7th Australian Infantry Battalion and saw active service in the Aitape-Wewak campaign, 1944-45. After the war he was commissioned in the CMF and was promoted to Major in 1957. In 1962 he was appointed Histori...
