William Henry Read (1876-1962), physician and surgeon, was the eldest child of Richard Read and his wife, Georgina, nee McFadden. He married Irene Victoria Phillips at Hunters Hill, NSW, in 1906. One of their children was peace activist Margaret Holmes who lived at Mosman.
