Philip Gidley King (1758-1808) sailed to Australia on the First Fleet. He was appointed lieutenant-governor of Norfolk Island in 1790 and was governor of New South Wales from 1800 to 1806.
Phillip Parker King (1793-1856) was the son of Philip Gidley King. He joined the navy in 1807. From 1817 to 1822 he conducted a survey of the Australian coast...
