Administrative / Biographical history
Mystery feature film, based on the novel by Joan Lindsay and centred around the disappearance on Hanging Rock of four girls during a schoolgirls' picnic on Valentine's Day, 1900.
The film is often credited with spearheading the renaissance of the Australian film industry in the mid 1970s.
