Margaret (Marjorie) Purvis Proctor was born on the 16 June 1898 in Ashfield and died in St Vincent’s hospital Darlinghurst on 12 February 1985. Marjorie married George Brodsky, a linguist, lawyer and writer, in 1941. Ms Brodsky, a resident of Edgecliff, NSW, was a composer and lyricist.
