Founded by James Norton, 1795-1862, solicitor, in Sydney from 1819-1862. The firm became Norton and Barker in 1826, Norton, Son & Barker in 1848, on the death of James Norton, Norton & Barker again, reverting to James Norton on Barker's retirement. In 1879 Robert Smith joined to make it Norton & Smith. For a few years it was Norton, Smith, Westgart...
