Andrew Sinclair was born in Scotland, on 13 April 1794. Assistant surgeon, Royal Navy, 1822-32, during this period he collected botanical and zoological specimens for the British Museum and Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Colonial Secretary, New Zealand, 1844-56, a member of the Legislative Council from 1844. Elected a fellow of the Linnean Society, 1...
