The material came chiefly from a private collector who acquired much of the surviving archive of the Freycinet family in the 1970s and 1980s. Other pieces were acquired as they became available over subsequent decades through the antiquarian market, sometimes through Hordern House. Most of the manuscripts have red stamps of the 'Archives de Laage',...
