PETITION
June 1839;  Petition of Captain, Chief of the Caddie Tribe to Governor Sir George Gipps requesting a boat with which to earn his living. It is annotated with recommendations as to his good character by land and house holders of the district of Pitt Town - John Grono, Thomas Arndell, William Hall, Joseph Smith, David Roberts, Richard Roberts and John McDonald.

4 April 1839;  Depositions of Major J.W. Nunn, Sergeant John Lee, Corporal Patrick Hannan and  Major Fitton taken before Edward Denny Day, Police Magistrate and William Ogilvie and John Pike Esquires of the District of Merton, in an investigation into the death of certain Aboriginal natives in a collision with the Mounted Police near Mr Cobb's Station on the Big River in January 1838.
 
17 May 1839;  Deposition of Lieutenant George Geddes McKenzie Cobban taken before Edward Denny Day, Police Magistrate, and William Ogilvie and John Pike Esquires of the District of Merton, in an investigation into the death of certain Aboriginal natives in a collision with  the Mounted Police near Mr Cobb's Station on the Big River in January 1838.

26 August 1848;  Depositions of Jonathan and Margaret Young of Timbercolli, McIntyre River taken before Richard Bligh, Acting Coroner concerning the cause of death of Bootha, an Aboriginal female of the Peichamboul tribe. 

SWORN STATEMENTS
11 October 1841- 18 November 1841;  Statements sworn at Bathurst before the police magistrates by William Carr, George Sutton, George Flitcroft, John Butcher, Sergeant Michael Reilly and Corporal Peter McEvoy concerning charges of murder against Joey alias Cudjenmoly and Jaco alias Currajomblay. The statements of Reilly and McEvoy are enclosed in a letter dated 9 November 1841 from Lieutenant W.S. Nicholson at Bathurst to the Officer Commanding the Mounted Police.

11 July - 15 November 1816;  Letters and memoranda from William Cox to Governor Lachlan Macquarie mainly concerning hostile Aborigines in the Hawkesbury district and the disposition of the three military parties stationed there to protect the settlers,  together with a note by Macquarie dated 19 July 1816.

17 January 1827;  Letter from David Reilly JP of Inverary Park, Argyll to Charles Throsby concerning the Aborigines in his district.

19 January 1827;  Letter from Charles Throsby of Sutton Forest, Argyle to the Colonial Secretary  concerning the Aborigines in his district.

6 December 1837;  Letter from Alexander Paterson of Bells Station, Manilla River (possibly to the Colonial Secretary) concerning outrages committed by Aborigines along the Namoi River.

9 April 1839;  Photocopy of a letter from Edward Denny Day to the Colonial Secretary concerning the collision between Mounted Police under Major Nunn and  Aborigines on the Big River.

20 June 1840;  Letter from J. Allman, Commissioner of Crown Lands at Headquarters, Wellingon to Governor Sir George Gipps concerning outrages committed on Aborigines;  annotated with a note by Gipps.

undated;  Fragment of a letter from J. Allman concerning the shooting of some Aborigines.

9 November 1841;  Letter from Lieutenant W.S. Nicholson at Bathurst to the Officer Commanding the Mounted Police concerning the capture of two Aborigines charged with murder - see 'Sworn Statements' above.

6 August 1849;  Letter from Perceval S. Stephen at Juandah to Mr Walker complaining about the troublesome behaviour of the Aborigines in the  neighbourhood of the Condamine River.
