Bird Morning (2014) for two pianos and didjeridu. Commissioned by the Brown and Breen Duo. Original manuscript, draft, sketches and selected correspondence.

An Ominous Calm (2015). Contribution to the collective ballet Tracy, commissioned by the Darwin Symphony Orchestra, Chief Conductor Matthew Wood. I contributed the first of four movements to this ballet, choreographed by Gary Lang. Manuscript, showing my reworking and expansion of an earlier orchestral piece, Emerald Crossing. Also correspondence.

Veni Creator Spiritus (1993, rev. 1998). “to Helen Edwards”. String Octet version commissioned for the St. Martin in the Fields Octet. Original ms. and some selected correspondence.

Animisms (2014). Quintet for flute, clarinet, percussion, violin and cello. Dedicated to Sir Peter Maxwell Davies on the occasion of his 80th birthday. Commissioned by The Australia Ensemble. Manuscript, sketches and correspondence.

Chorale and Ecstatic Dance (1995). (Formerly titled Enyato III). Commissioned by Eva Griffith in memory of Heinz Harant. Original orchestral version for an SSO European tour, 1995. Original ms.

Maninya I (1981-1985), for voice and cello. ‘to Hartley Newnham’. Original manuscript. This work became the basis of the first movement of the violin concerto Maninyas (1988). 

Enyato IV (1995, revised 2012), for bass clarinet and percussion. Original manuscript (cf published revision). “In memory of Heinz Harant”. Commissioned by Eva Griffith for the Duo Contemporain.

Incidental Music for a (1984) production of Ibsen’s The Pillars of Society by The Sydney Theatre Company, Sydney Opera House Drama Theatre. Original manuscript and annotated photocopy.

Prelude & Laughing Rock (1993-2003) for solo cello. “to David Pereira” Commissioned by Belinda Webster. The manuscript incorporates suggested edits by cellists Trish O’Brien and Imogen Malnins, and an extension to Laughing Rock which I made in 1999.

Dawn Canticle (2001). “for Lyn Williams and the Sydney Childrens’ Choir. An arrangement, commissioned by the Braden family of Sydney, of Dawn Mantras (1999). Original ms.

Ancora Estatico, (2008). “ for Peter”.  80th birthday tribute to Peter Sculthorpe on his 80th birthday. Performed by the Goldner String Quartet at the 2009 Kangaroo Valley Festival. Original manuscript and sketches.

Barossa Pearl (2000). “for Max”. Composed to welcome Sir Peter Maxwell Davies to his residency at the Barossa Festival in 2000. Later revised, extended and incorporated into Animisms (2014), commissioned by the Australia Ensemble. Original manuscript.

Kangaroo Valley Blues, (2005). Piano piece “for Martin and Peter Wesley-Smith on their 60th birthday”. Ms score and draft. 

Bagatelle, (1991) for (Prof.) Eric Gross on his Retirement from Sydney University Music Department in 1991.

A Postcard from Sydney. Violin and piano.  “for Malcolm Williamson on his 70th Birthday”. 

Bagatelle for Recorder Quartet 1996 ‘for the recorder players of Quaama’, commissioned by Rosemary Kendall. 

‘Unity – Diversity’ Undated. School Song for International Grammar School, Sydney, which Ross Edwards' children attended in the early 1990s. Commissioned by the Headmistress, Rita Fin, and still used as school song in 2016. This ms. version an arrangement for Michael Atherton and the Southern Crossings Ensemble.
 
Yabun (‘Sing!’) Undated (1990s). School Song for St. Andrews Cathedral School, Sydney, commissioned by the Music Mistress, Ms Chris Belshaw. Still used as school song in 2016. Ms. score, draft and correspondence.
