1985-1996 ;  Material donated by Ross Parry of 'Christians'. This group was founded in 1980. Its key ideals are to work for love not money and to live communally without private ownership. Correspondence with Bill Ethell, captain of the 18 metre ketch, Pacific Peacemaker, which he sailed to Mururoa Atoll in 1981 to protest against the French atomic tests and subsequently to Seattle, USA in an attempt to blockade the first Trident nuclear submarine. This collection covers events prior to the voyage to Seattle in 1982, Bill Ethell's return and his work in trade unions in Western Australia and NSW. Also includes photocopy of his diary and the beginning of a book about the voyage, correspondence with other people on the voyage and related material. "Basically it is a correspondence between two left wing peace/trade union activists in the 1980s - also both parents of a little girl, Alice, born while Pacific Peacemaker was on its voyage."
