Album of photographs of actors, actresses, singers, music hall artists and others, ca. 1874-ca. 1900

This album includes a group of photographs by Murell & Co of the casts of operettas which were put on in Sydney in the early 1880's and of actors who appeared on the Sydney stage in the 1880's. There is also a small group of Freeman photographs, most of which are of members of the Italian Opera Co which opened at the Theatre Royal in November 1876. Of the remainder, 35 have been taken off their mounts so as to fit the windows of the album and the rest are a mixture of local and overseas photographs. The earlies dated photo in the album is 1874; a few may predate it.
