Glass photonegatives of Sydney and surrounding areas, approximately 1890-1923 / photographed by William Joseph Macpherson

Comprises images of parades, marches, Sydney streets and buildings, maypole dancing at the Sydney Cricket Ground, horse-drawn cabs, trams, Blue Mountain and bush areas, beaches, and house fires. Including the Garden House of 'Hawthornden', Woollahra (no's. 1-3), stone gates of 'Hawthornden' (no. 4), 'Hawthornden', Woollahra (no's. 5-6), Aarons Exchange Hotel, Gresham Street, Sydney (no. 7). Unidentified crowds, parades and marches are probably of Federation, 1901 and funerals. 

The house fire in Mosman in no's. 15-17 show horse-drawn fire engines (identified by donor).
