Includes account of a white woman, Barbara Thompson, rescued at Evans Bay, Cape York after living with the Kaurareg people of Muralug Island (Prince of Wales Island) for 5 years following a shipwreck;  notes on native culture, social relations, rituals and customs (such as marriage, weapons, cultivation of land, funerals);  population of 'Morolaga'; conversations; account of Steamer & the paddle wheel; occasional items of Aboriginal vocabulary including personal names and place names (216 pages).
